Time for a wandering about the garden as fall advances. Many things are winding down, but not everything.
Here’s the backyard garden and multitude of leaves that have already fallen.
My vigilance is has slipped, and the purple basil is now flowering.
The baby’s breath is in bloom. So far I just have a few spindly little plants that are tipping over, but I’m hoping they will be nice and full next year, once they’re a little more established.
Here’s one of my cucumbers — an heirloom variety — in progress.
And my grand champion pumpkin has turned mostly orange in the space of about a day or two.
A snack-sized portion of beans were ready to pick, the first of the year for me.
