I took a few pictures in the vegetable garden this morning. It froze earlier this week, so what was left in there is looking a little haggard, as plants go.
- A little beetle in the corn husk of the ear that I shamefully forgot about.
- The corn tassel
- The black walnut in the background and the pumpkin vines in the foreground
- Most of the pumpkin leaves just look like raggy old shrouds now.
- A flower on the pumpkin vine with one pretty drop of dew.
- The surface of another planet, or a pumpkin?
- A branch of the black walnut, with the rest of the tree in silhouette in the background
- A little sapling against the shed.
- Just some grass growing along the shed.
- Heliopsis might be the MVP of the garden this year in terms of how longevity. It has been blooming ever since I transplanted it a couple months back.

So many lovely shots. Love the one of the black walnut and pumpkin patch.
That is my fav in the series, too.
I usually buy frozen vegetables in a plastic bag, at my grocer. It seems a lot simpler than growing them and waiting for a freeze.
I never do things the easy way!
Two thoughts as I read this post:
1. OMG I love the light in all of these shots.
2. OMG!!! It has already been below freezimg there?
Really nice work with contra light.
The sapling and the shed, form fighting with freedom, I liked the shroud shadows from the sun through the trees as well.
