I’m on a mission to visit all the cemeteries.
Well, not so much all of them as a lot of them. Mostly the ones I can walk to or bike to easily. Or happen by. There’s one in the area I’ve been meaning to visit for a while, and I did so today.
On the overpass walking to the cemetery. Kind of a bleak day. But kind of pretty, if you’re into that. Fortunately, I am.
Someone had been there not long before
Thought it was sort of neat to see the wide berth of untouched grass surrounded by snow under the big trees
Always fascinated by lichen, particularly the really cool stuff that always seems to grow on these ubiquitous redcedars in cemeteries.
Neat-ish rows flanked by tall cedars
Beautiful twisting bark
More lovely lichen
Strange little monument for a monsignor that was almost tucked under the shrubs surrounding the Jesus sculpture a few pictures back; most incongruous. Anyway. Loved the bright cedar leaves that had fallen
There was this one grave which must have been placed here long before this tree was practically eating it….
Someone left behind what I presume to be the departed’s favorite brewski
An angel at the same grave
Elsewhere, the dead preferred Milwaukee’s Best. Somewhere else in the cemetery, I saw a bottle of Ensure and two fun-size candy bars
