January 11th

I owe pictures from the last two days. Spoiler alert, it’s just cats. In the meantime we were treated to a real heat wave here in Minnesota: high 30s, lower 40s. It sprinkled for most of the day and a thick fog hung over everything. A fun picture time it was. Less fun was putting this post together thanks to the collusion of WordPress, Flickr, my camera, my computer, and Gimp. Thanks, all. Thanks for making my lose my mind. Please enjoy these pictures.

12. This is my parents’ front lawn. Can’t believe how green it is. Like how it is part snow, part melted, part exposed turf.

    • Thanks! That’s the branch of a staghorn sumac (the remnants of some of the fruit is pictured in #10), which is so called because its branches resemble deer antlers, as you can get a sense of from the picture.

  1. more interesting photos. I liked 9, for the fanciful curves, 17, for its depth. 18 I love the curves but feel the need for a horizon to ground me 🙂 and 29, the reaching, stretching fingers, waiting for the return of the spring.
